Raised in a multicultural family in the Bay Area, gathering around the kitchen table would always bring us together. Political party, language, religion, or home team did not matter: we are were all the same when sharing food.

Whether you were a new or old friend, my family shared homemade food with anyone who came to our home, and through food we created a beautiful community.

As I began to travel, I gained a sense of community through food. No matter their language or where they were from, we could always communicate and bond through food.
